April Newsletter
“This is the message we have heard from the Father and His Son Jesus Christ and declare to you: God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all.“ 1John 1:5
The following inmate’s letters are filled with and gratitude for Set Free Prison Ministry and to all who support the ministry.
From Andrew: “Hello and God bless you. I can’t thank Set Free Prison Ministry and every single person who works and volunteers there. The wisdom and knowledge I received from all the Bible courses has really helped me in my personal walk with my Lord and Savior. I am currently enrolled at Mid-America Seminary College and am working on my Bachelor’s degree and God is blessing me every day. It’s a wonderful feeling.”
And from Thomas: “ If Federal Prison was where God wanted me, that is where I would go…to work and not live. I was able with the help of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, turn a prison sentence from a burden to a blessing. I trusted in the Lord; I came to Him through His Spirit. He guided me to a richer life, to a more patient life, to a life of purpose where I gave up on hurting those around me to helping them, from hating them to loving them. I was reborn in Christ and given a new man, a new life, a new profound purpose. For 34 years I loved, helped, and guided some of the most lost souls one can ask for. I asked God and He gave me life. He gave me a purpose – Oh! And He sent an angel to me with a Set Free “Green Card” from heaven and I went to work on my own soul. I had to put to work the things I had taught for so many years.”
(A Green Card is an enrollment in the Set Free courses and included in every lesson book)
And from Joseph who is now in a halfway house: “Thank you for the time you all take to teach me the Word of God and how to be a better man. All the work in Bible study, reading, Celebrate Recovery, etc. has helped me become a new man with a focus on my covenant marriage and our children. “
From an inmate: “Thanks for praying for my court date. The court continues it every 2 weeks but it’s okay, I’m leaving it all in God’s hands. I want to give my life to God 100%, and I do want to change my ways and follow God with all of my heart. He has given me so much but sometimes it takes unfortunate circumstances to realize that He has always been there through every happy moment and through every tear. I know at the end of the day it will all work out for the best. Thank you all for your prayers. God bless.”
From Thomas: “I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for me! I received my award Bible and look forward to using it in my Advanced Course studies and my continued walk with God. You truly made a profound spiritual difference in my life and in doing so, of the lives around me!”
DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS
I thank God for the amazing core of volunteers we have at Set Free who love the Lord and His work. We can always use more volunteers with a commitment to serve the Lord.
We also thank God for our prayer partners and donors who make this ministry possible. I pray that the Lord will show you how much you are loved and appreciated by us and the people we serve. The Lord is using your prayers and gifts to encourage us and to meet our needs and the needs of those who are incarcerated.
" Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord” 1 Corinthians 15:58
